Overview

GP Consultations at Wallan Doctors

Most health concerns start with a conversation with your GP. Whether it's a cough that won't settle, a niggling pain, a question about a new medication or a form that needs signing, a general practice appointment is the place to begin. Our doctors will listen, examine, explain what they find and agree a plan with you, so you leave knowing what happens next.

Wallan is growing quickly, and many families are still travelling out of town to see a doctor. We're building Wallan Doctors so that care is close to home. From April 2027, you'll be able to see a GP locally for one-off concerns and for the continuing care that matters most over time, with your records kept together in one practice.

GP Consultations: common questions

Straight answers about gp consultations at Wallan Doctors.

Wallan Doctors is planned to open in April 2027. We'll share the exact opening date, booking details and opening hours with everyone who registers their interest, and we'll publish them on this website before our doors open. Until then, please keep seeing your current GP for any health concerns.

Yes. Our GPs will see patients of all ages, from babies and young children through to teenagers, adults and older patients. Many families like to see the same practice for everyone, which helps your GP understand your family history and keeps your records together in one place.

Wallan Doctors will be a fully bulk billing practice for eligible services. That means eligible GP consultations will be bulk billed for patients with a valid Medicare card, with no gap to pay. A few services that Medicare doesn't cover may carry a cost, and we'll always tell you before your appointment.

We'll encourage continuity of care, which means seeing the same GP where possible. A regular doctor gets to know your history, which can make appointments simpler and care more consistent. When your usual GP isn't available, another doctor at the practice will have access to your records.

In an emergency, call 000. A general practice isn't the right place for chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, serious injuries or signs of stroke. For urgent advice outside an emergency, you can call healthdirect on 1800 022 222 at any time of the day or night.
