Fully bulkbilling

Wallan Doctors will be a fully bulk billing practice. Eligible Medicare services will be bulk billed for patients with a valid Medicare card — for every member of the family.

Fully bulk billing practice · for eligible services

Quick answer

Yes — Wallan Doctors will be a fully bulk billing GP practice for eligible services. If you have a valid Medicare card, eligible services such as standard GP consultations will be bulk billed, so there is no gap to pay. Anything not covered by Medicare will always be explained before your appointment.

How bulk billing works

No gap foreligible services

When a service is bulk billed, we claim the Medicare benefit directly and accept it as full payment. You don't pay anything on the day for that service and there's nothing to claim back.

As a fully bulk billing practice, we'll bulk bill every eligible Medicare service for patients with a valid Medicare or DVA card — children, adults, families and older patients alike.

Bulk billed for eligible patients

  • Standard GP consultations
  • Children's health and childhood immunisation visits
  • Health assessments, where you're eligible
  • Chronic disease management and care plans, where you're eligible
  • GP Mental Health Treatment Plans and reviews

What may carry a cost

  • Vaccines not funded by the National Immunisation Program, such as some travel vaccines (the cost of the vaccine itself)
  • Medicals and reports Medicare doesn't cover, such as pre-employment, insurance or licence medicals
  • Appointments for people without a valid Medicare card, such as overseas visitors

We'll always tell you about any cost before your appointment, so there are no surprises.
